Itinerary
Day 1: Colonial Charm & Vibrant Promenades:
Morning: Arrive in Shimla via the iconic Kalka-Shimla Toy Train or road transport. Check into your accommodation and rest.
Afternoon: Walk to the Viceregal Lodge, also known as Rashtrapati Niwas. Tour this magnificent 1888 British architecture site and its botanical gardens.
Evening: Stroll down the vehicle-free Mall Road, the social heartbeat of Shimla. Catch the sunset at Scandal Point and photograph the neo-Gothic Christ Church on The Ridge.
Dinner: Dine at a cozy heritage venue or try a traditional meal at Himachali Rasoi near Mall Road
Day 2: Panoramic Peaks & Forest Trails:
Morning: Take the scenic Jakhu Temple Ropeway or hike up to Jakhoo Hill, Shimla's highest peak. Explore the Hanuman Temple and marvel at its giant 108-foot statue. Avoid carrying loose snacks, as local monkeys are highly active.
Afternoon: Head down to the Glen Forest Trail or Annandale Ground for a quiet walk amidst towering deodar trees. Alternatively, visit the Himachal State Museum to view tribal art and historical relics.
Late Afternoon: Explore Lakkar Bazaar to buy handcrafted wooden artifacts, local souvenirs, and warm woolens.
Night: Wind down with live music at Café Simla Times or Café Sol.
Day 3: Snowy Horizons & Mountain Excursions:
Morning: Take a 16 km drive to the neighboring hill town of Kufri. Catch sweeping views of the snow-clad Himalayan range from Mahasu Peak via a pony ride.
Afternoon: Visit the Himalayan Nature Park in Kufri to see native high-altitude wildlife like leopards, musk deer, and Himalayan bears. If visiting in the winter, you can try snow-skiing or sledging here.
Alternative Route: If you prefer a more tranquil experience over the adventure activities in Kufri, take a day trip to the quiet deodar forests of Mashobra or Naldehra instead.
Day 4: Departure:
After breakfast check out from the hotel, and drop for your homeward journey.
