Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Cultural Exploration in Kolkata - Arrive in Kolkata. Visit the iconic, marble-clad Victoria Memorial and explore the sprawling Indian Museum. Take a leisurely walk down Park Street to enjoy the colonial architecture, and dive into local street food (don't miss the famous kathi rolls or mishti doi).
Day 2: Heritage & Riverfront in Kolkata - Visit the grand Howrah Bridge and walk through the bustling flower market. Head north to visit Dakshineswar Kali Temple. Take a serene ferry ride down the Hooghly River to Belur Math, the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Mission.
Day 3: Darjeeling & The Mall Road – Arrive at NJP Station/Bagdogra Airport. Take a scenic 3-hour shared or private cab ride up to the "Queen of Hills" (Darjeeling). Check into your hotel. Spend the afternoon resting and acclimatizing to the mountain air. Take a relaxed stroll along Chowrasta (Mall Road), enjoy views of the rolling hills, and grab a hot cup of Darjeeling tea at a local cafe.
Day 4: Monasteries & Tea Estates – Wake up early to visit Ghoom Monastery and the Batasia Loop, where the Toy Train takes a 360-degree turn amid stunning mountain vistas. Visit the Happy Valley Tea Estate to see the tea-making process, and stop by the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park.
Day 5: Tiger Hill Sunrise & Ropeway – Before dawn, head to Tiger Hill to watch the magnificent sunrise over the Kanchenjunga range. Experience the thrill of the Darjeeling Ropeway (cable car) and visit the serene Peace Pagoda. Take an unforgettable ride on the heritage Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (Toy Train) from Darjeeling to Ghum and back.
Day 6: Day Trip to Mirik – Embark on a scenic 1.5-hour drive to the picturesque town of Mirik. Walk along the banks of Sumendu Lake, surrounded by dense pine forests. Visit the Bokar Monastery and browse the local markets. Return to Darjeeling for your last night in the hills.
Day 7: Departure – Enjoy a final breakfast with mountain views. Check out of your hotel and drive back down to NJP Station or Bagdogra Airport to catch your flight or train back home.
